Like last week, this week wasn't too bad, I was able to follow each lecture without being confused. I also understood all the proofs that were being done in class. However, the last claim we did during Friday's lecture, where we had to disprove it ( ∀f,g ϵ F, f ϵ O(g) ---> f ϵ O(g.g)) was a bit challenging. I didn't understand the scrap work that was being done and the reason f(n) and g(n) to be 1/ n + 1. As a result of being confused I went straight to my friend and he explained it to me. I also took the time to review the proof later on which really helped. There were certain parts that were confusing in some of proofs we did during the week, but I think reviewing it again, really helped. I definitely need to go over it sometime next week, because I know we have to be strong in this topic in order to complete assignment 3. The lectures on counting steps is something I also need to go over. I have been wanting to review those slides since last week, but I couldn't find time, and I also got lazy. Luckily we learned about counting steps in CSC108, so I have a basic idea, but I still really need to go over the slides.
This week I also realized that our professor provided a bunch of practice problems on the course website which I hope to finish before the final exam. I also am really excited for our two day break, I can finally find time to review the course notes, and slides from past weeks without worrying about current work that needs to be done. We also got our Test 2 back, I was pretty disappointed because I thought I deserved more marks for few of the proofs, but Ill probably go check with the professor and maybe ask for a remark.
